Rig of the Day: Fender Strat ’77 / Brit Mod Amp

Join us for a laid-back exploration as we take a single guitar and a factory preset from Axiom V2 to see what they can do!

Our weapon of choice here is a vintage 1977 Fender Stratocaster, but it’s not your ordinary one. It received some modifications during the ’80s, including a hot rails humbucker at the bridge, giving it a unique edge.

The Axiom factory preset is from the “Guitar – Clean” category: “Brit Mod – Happy Shape”. The modified classic Brit-style amp (clean channel) gets into the dirtier territory with the addition of an extra “Screamer” pedal and a touch of ping-pong delay:

if you look closely at our video you will notice something interesting: there’s no mouse in sight! I am controlling Axiom using MIDI and the impressive “Killamix Mini” MIDI controller by Kenton Electronics.
