Re-Head 1.3 is finally here… Let’s see the main new features brought by this free update!
Stereo Field Analyzer
There is now a built-in stereo field analyzer, using the technology developed for the StereoScope Pro plug-in. It helps you visualize the distribution of the audio signal in the stereo field at the output of Re-Head and help you adjust your monitoring settings.
It if fully integrated with the stereo reduction control as you can see in the following video:
Head Response Amount
You can now manage how much of “head response” you want the plug-in to apply, and even disable it entirely, in case you prefer to use the other tools provided by the plug-in independently from the head response (for example headphones compensation).
It also allows the plug-in to be used in other monitoring contexts such as with speakers, where you don’t want the head response.
Hass Effect For Width Control
A new option is now available for stereo width reduction via crossfeed (more details about crossfeed here): the plug-in can now use interaural time delay (ITD) while managing crossfeed between the left and right channels.
The result is a more open stereo field with more realistic positioning (you can see this on the new built-in analyzer). This however alters the frequency response, so the plug-in lets you control the amount of this effect as well as the width of the head:
As usual, remember that Re-Head together with your headphones is a monitoring system of its own that you want to calibrate using your favorite mixes (or tones, if you use it to play an instrument with headphones). All these extra control are here to let you tweak your experience and make working with headphones as comfortable as possible.
Note: there is more in this new release, read the full changelog for ReHead 1.3 here.
