New PatchWork Preview Adds More Aux Outputs And Plug-In I/O Routing

It’s now time for a new preview of Blue Cat’s PatchWork 1.7!

Compared to the latest preview, this new version adds 8 more output channels to the synth version (giving you 16 outputs for your instruments), and adds the ability to configure audio I/O for each plug-in:

PW-channel-mappingWhat does this mean? A lot of things! For example, you can now:

  • Route any of the outputs of an instrument to any aux output of the PatchWork plug-in.
  • Apply effects to a subset of audio channels (for example to apply multi -mono effects on stereo or surround tracks, or apply different effects to different aux outputs fro an instrument).
  • Create sends from a channel to another (re-routing a processed signal to another aux output for example, while the dry signal is kept on the current channels).
  • Reorder audio channels.
  • Apply effects to the side chain bus, or use any audio channel as a side chain.

Of course latency is compensated on unprocessed channels (if you apply for example a mono plug-in with latency only on the left channel, the right channel will be delayed accordingly).

Check out the new “Audio I/O” command in the plug-in menu, and please send us feedback!

As usual, to test this preview (if you are a registered customer): go to the full version download page (link received by email at purchase time), and choose the “next release preview” link at the bottom of the page.

  1. I love this plugin thats why I got it. The 1 only thing that will make this plugin crazy as hell. Is that we had the option in Pro tools or any daw is that we can put single au or vst in the inserts. And also when we using patchwork in Pro Tools 11. Patchwork does not take advantage of the dynamic plugin process feature that pro tools 11 have when theres vst or au plugins in it. I will love to see that feature and also others as well. But other than that. Keep ip the great work. But if you guys can make that dynamic plugin process feature work that will be the biggest things with this plugin hands down.

    1. What do you mean by “we can put single au or vst in the inserts”?

About dynamic plugin process, it should work. Do you have an example where it fails? Also, the PatchWork plug-in actually has its own silence detection system that should stop processing when fed with silence, on any DAW.

    1. It should be available from the plug-in menu, using the “Audio I/O…” item, right after the params map and MIDI I/O.

          1. You can get it from the same location as the previous one: just go to the full version download page (link received by email at purchase time), and choose the “next release preview” link at the bottom of the page. You may need to close and reopen your web browser to make sure it does not have it in its cache.

    1. Great! Please send us feedback by email! We hope that you will like it. And a new preview with a few minor fixes is on its way…
